Retaining walls, steps, walkways and radiant heated driveways built to hold the grade through Utah winters.
Hardscape is the structure of an outdoor space: the walls that hold back a slope, the steps that get you from one level to the next, and the walkways and patios that tie it all together. We build board-formed concrete walls, stone and boulder walls, concrete steps, walkways and patios, and we plan them with the grading and drainage behind them in mind. Utah winters are hard on concrete and stone, so we pay close attention to the base, the drainage and the details that help hardscape hold up over time.
What’s included
Board-formed concrete, stone and boulder walls that hold the grade.
Concrete steps on slopes and entries, with railings where they are needed.
Poured concrete paths and patio areas.
Snowmelt systems under driveways, walkways, patios and steps.
Natural boulder walls, edging and accents.
Low walls and raised beds that shape the space.
Snowmelt systems
A radiant (snowmelt) system keeps a driveway clear on its own. Hydronic tubing or electric heating cable is installed under the concrete or pavers and warms the surface, so snow melts and ice doesn't form. It works for driveways, walkways, patios, steps and entries, and it's easiest to add when the surface is being built or replaced.
We completed a radiant heated driveway at the Millcreek Residence, and we’re currently installing one at the Suncrest Residence. See the Millcreek Residence →
