Site prep, hillside excavation and grading that sets up everything built on top of it.

Most outdoor projects start below the surface. Before a wall, patio, pool or lawn goes in, the ground has to be cleared, dug, shaped and compacted so it supports the work and moves water away from the house. We handle that dirt work and plan it together with the landscape and construction that comes after, which keeps the handoff between phases simple. Whether it is a sloped hillside lot or a flat backyard, we start by understanding the grade you have now and the finished grade the project needs.

FAQ

Common questions

Does every landscape project need excavation?
Not always. It depends on the current grade, the soil and what is being built. We will tell you during the consultation whether dirt work is needed.
Can grading help with water collecting near my house?
Grading is often part of the fix for water collecting near a foundation. We look at where the water is going and may pair grading with drainage work.
Do you work on sloped or hillside lots?
Yes. On sloped lots, grading is usually planned together with retaining walls and steps.
Who marks underground utilities before digging?
Underground utility lines need to be located and marked before any digging. In Utah, that request goes through Blue Stakes of Utah 811.
Can excavation be part of a larger project?
Yes. Excavation is usually the first phase, and we can carry the project through to hardscape, landscape or construction.
